MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Section I. LUBRICATION INSTRUCTIONS
3-1. GENERAL.
Reduce wear to the mating areas of the bridge.
Lubrication will: q
q Extend the life of the bridge.
More often during periods of training and severe weather.
Lubricate:
q
q Prior to use, when possible.
q During extended periods of use.
. After washing and fording.
MATERIAL:
NOTE LUBRICATE ALL CABLE CONNECTING POINTS,
HARDWARE PINS, ETC., AT TIME OF ASSEMBLY OR
BI-YEARLY. LUBRICATE PRIOR TO STORAGE.
1. Heavy application 1/16 to 1/8 in. deep.
LUBRICATION METHODS:
2. Light application (film) to retard corrosion.
3. Mechanical application using grease gun.
