LIFELINE AND LIFE RING SUBSYSTEM
The lifeline subsystem is installed along the causeway sides and trident pierhead sides and shoreward end to protect
personnel from falling overboard. The stanchions for the lifelines are installed in the turn-tube fittings and ISO corner
fittings of the section modules. The lifelines, life rings, nylon rope and strobe lights are attached to the inboard side of
lifeline stanchions. Chain is used to span the gap between section openings. The lifeline arrangement will vary
depending on FC configuration.
The components of the lifeline subsystem consist of stanchions (two types), deck fittings (two types) and chain to
span the spaces between sections. The components of the life ring subsystem consist of a donut shaped flotation
device, nylon rope and strobe light.
