Do not turn injector upside down to perform this step. The nozzle assembly and needle valve come off with nozzle nut. h. Nozzle Lift out of Nozzle and needle assembly (9) nozzle nut. valve are lapped and must be kept as a pair. NOTE Do not interchange needle valves. 3. Nozzle assembly Needle Lift out of (9) valve (10) assembly. INSPECTION, CLEANING AND REPAIR NOTE Wash all injector parts in clean diesel fuel. 4. Nozzle a. Clean off all assembly (9) carbon with soft brass wire brush. b. Inspect needle valve tip for bluing and seat for scouring. 2-269
