Replace.(figure 4-37)When working under boom, support boom by blocking or other suitable means.(1) Raise boom (1) approximately 5 ft (1.38 m) and block in position.When disconnecting any hydraulic lines, open slowly and protect face as hydraulic fluid may spray outdue to residual pressure in system.NOTEWhen removing hoses, have a suitable container to drain oil from hoses. Also cap all hoses and portsimmediately to prevent dirt or foreign matter from entering the system.(2) Tag, disconnect and cap three hydraulic lines (2), (3), and (4) from cable tensioner(5).(3) Remove nut (8), washer(7), and bolt (6).(4) Loosen locknuts (9) and (10), raise arm (11) and remove cable (12) from cable tensioner (5).WARNINGCable tensioner weighs approximately 134 lbs (61 kg). To avoid personnel injury, three personnel arerequired for this procedure.(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10)(11)(12)Remove screw (13) and clamp (14) securing cable guide (15).Support cable tensioner (5) and remove four screws (16), washers (17), and lockwashers (18) and removecable tensioner (5).Install cable tensioner (5) and secure with four screws (16), washers (17), and lockwashers (18).Install clamp (14) and secure with screw (13).Position cable (12) in cable tensioner (5).Install bolt (6), washer (7), and nut (8).Apply teflon tape to hydraulic line fittings and connect three hydraulic lines (2), (3), and (4) to cable tensioner(5).Adjust cable tensioner.4-140
