(16) Post Tensioning Assembly (PT)
The post tensioning assembly is used to remove slack from the complete reinforcement system. When the
tension post is correctly positioned, nearly vertical, the entire system is tensioned and the bridge is reinforced. There are
four assemblies in a bridge. Before loading on a pallet, two must be assembled as right hand, and two as left hand
assemblies. This is done by positioning of the cable pullers in one or the other of the alternate positions on the frame.
The tensioning post assembly is equipped with six carrying bar brackets which are used for carrying, and for lifting when
connecting the assembly to the bridge.
(1)
REINFORCING POST. Allows tensioning of the system as it is pulled to a near vertical positioning under the
bridge.
(2)
UPPER JAW CATCH ASSEMBLY. Connects the post tensioning assembly to the panel pins in the lower flange of
the bottom panel. The jaws snap into position around the pins and then they are secured with retainer clips.
