UNIVERSAL JOINT COVER REPLACEMENT (Sheet 1 of 1)
9/16 in. socket with 1/2 in. square drive
TOOLS:
Ratchet with 1/2 in. square drive
Lockwashers (6 required)
SUPPLIES:
Remove periscope stowage box (page 3-49)
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE:
REMOVAL:
1.
Using socket, remove six screws (A) and lockwashers (B). Throw lockwashers (B) away.
Remove universal joint cover (C) with spare head stowage box attached.

If universal joint cover (C) is to be turned in, remove spare head stowage box (page 3-47).
INSTALLATION:
Position universal joint cover (C) and aline holes.

Using socket, install six new lockwashers (B) and screws (A).
Install periscope stowage box (page 3-50).

Install spare head stowage box if it was removed (page 3-48).
