REAR EMERGENCY STOP CONTROL SWITCH AND CABLE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (Contd)
REMOVAL
1. Loosen four screws (7) and open emergency stop control box cover (6) from emergency stop control
box (4).
NOTE
Tag electrical leads for installation.
2.
Disconnect electrical leads No. 35 (5) and No. 32 (12) from stop switch (11).
3.
Remove screw (13) and ground wire (15) from boss (16) and control box (4).
4.
Remove nut (20), ferrell (19), and cable (1) from bulkhead fitting (2).
5.
Remove bulkhead fitting (2) and O-ring seal (3) from emergency stop control box (4).
6.
Remove stop switch (11), lockplate assembly (10), and button (9) from control box cover (6).
7.
If damaged, remove emergency stop sign (8) from control box cover (6).
8.
If damaged, remove two screws (18), washers (17), and strap assembly (14) from emergency stop
control box (4).
INSTALLATION
1. If removed, install strap assembly (14) on emergency stop control box (4) with two washers (17) and
screws (18).
2.
If removed, install new emergency stop sign (8) on control box cover (6).
3.
Install button (9), lockplate assembly (10), and stop switch (11) on control box cover (6).
4.
Install O-ring seal (3) and bulkhead fitting (2) on emergency stop control box (4).
5.
Route cable (1) through nut (20), ferrell (19), bulkhead fitting (2), and emergency stop control
box (4).
6.
Connect ground wire (15) to boss (16) inside of control box (4) with screw (13).
NOTE
Connect electrical leads as tagged during removal.
7.
Connect electrical leads No. 35 (6) and No. 32 (12) to stop switch (11).
8.
Pull excess cable (1) through bulkhead fitting (2) and tighten nut (20).
9.
Install emergency stop control box cover (6) and tighten four screws (7).
10.
Place rear emergency stop control unit and cable assembly in stowage box. Refer to
TM 5-5420-280-10.
