WINCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (Contd)
INSTALLATION
1.
If removed, install winch holder brackets (14) and (5) on winch swing brackets (7) with four screws
(2), washers (8), and new locknuts (9).
2.
Attach lifting device and sling or chain to lifting eye (15) on winch mounting bracket (1) and lift and
position winch mounting bracket (1) over winch assembly (10).
NOTE
Apply sealing compound to threads of screws prior to installation.
3.
Install winch assembly (10) on winch mounting bracket (1) with pin assemblies (4) and (13), two
washers (12) and (3), and screws (11) and (6).
4.
Install force transmitter (16) on winch mounting bracket (1) and force transmitter holder (20) with
locking plate (19), two washers (18), and screws (17).
WARNING
Winch assembly weighs approximately 525 lb (238 kg). Support
winch assembly during removal and installation. Failure to comply
may result in injury or death to personnel.
5.
Lift winch mounting bracket (1) off dunnage and position against pallet A-frame (27).
NOTE
Ensure that all mounting hardware is tightened according to
standards torque limits unless otherwise noted. Refer to torque

Install winch mounting bracket (1) on pallet A-frame (27) with four screws (26), washers (28), and
new locknuts (30). Tighten locknuts (30) to 366 lb-ft (496 Nm).
7.
Remove lifting device and sling or chain.
NOTE
Install hydraulic hoses as noted at removal.
The pallet hydraulic system is self-bleeding, and with exception of
the telescopic tube hydraulic cylinders, there is no requirement for

Install new O-ring (22) on return hose (23), and connect return leakage hose (23) to hydraulic motor
fitting (21).
9.
Install new O-ring (22) on pump supply hose (29) and load sensing return hose (31), and connect
pump supply hose (29) and load sensing return hose (31) to two fittings (25) on control block (24).
