INSTALL MOORING BITTS

Attempting to install mooring bitts on the FC in higher sea conditions other than Sea
State 0 could cause injury or possible death to personnel and/or
damage equipment.

Mooring bitts can only be installed on female connector assemblies.
1.
Raise female guillotine bar.
a.
Insert crowbar (1) behind the spring bar (2) under female guillotine bar (3).
b.
Rotate crowbar (1) downward to clear spring bar (2) from deck overhangs and allow female guillotine bar (3)
to move upward.
c.
Raise female guillotine bar (3) approximately six in. until it stops.
d.
Remove crowbar (1).
2.
Lift mooring bitt (4) using fork lift and lift chain for installation.
