BATTERY AND BATTERY COVER REPLACEMENT (Sheet 4 of 5)
CLEANING AND INSPECTION:
1.
Inspect positive and negative adapters and battery terminals for rust and corrosion.
2.
Clean positive and negative adapters and battery terminals with stiff brush and
solution of water and bicarbonate of soda.
Flush cleaned surfaces with clean water.
3.
INSTALLATION:
B a t t e r y terminals must be posi-
tioned as shown.
Position battery on battery support.

Do not let wrench handle touch hull metal while installing negative
battery adapter (A). Arcing could occur and personnel could be
burned.
Do not force adapters (A) onto terminals by
hammering.
Place negative battery adapter (A) in position on negative battery terminal.

Holding bolt (B) with one 1/2 inch wrench, use other 1/2 inch wrench to tighten nut (C)
securing adapter (A) to negative battery terminal.
Place positive battery adapter (A) in position on positive battery terminal.

Holding bolt (B) with one 1/2 inch wrench, use other 1/2 inch wrench to tighten nut (C)
