TRANSMISSION DRAIN ACCESS COVER REPLACEMENT (Sheet 1 of 1)
TOOLS: 5/16 in. socket head screw key Putty knife

PRELIMINARY PROCEDURES:
Block track (TM 9-2350-226-10)
Apply park brake (TM 9-2350-226-10)
REMOVAL
1.
Two technicians crawl under rear of vehicle
and locate transmission access covers (A).
2.
While one technician holds access cover
(A), another technician, using 5/16 in. socket
head screw key, remove three screws (B)
and lockwashers (C).
3.
Remove access cover (A) and gasket
(D).
4.
Throw gasket (D) away.
5.
Using putty knife, scrape off all gasket and
adhesive residue.
INSTALLATION :
1.
Apply adhesive to new gasket (D) and
position onto access cover (A).
2.
With one technician holding access cover (A) and gasket (D) in position and another
technician using socket head screw key, install three screws (B) and lockwashers (C)
securing access cover (A).
