Flat-tip screwdriver
Crocus cloth (Item 5, Appendix D)
SUPPLIES:
Steel wool (Item 16, Appendix D)
Pencil and paper
Bearing, teflon
Lockwashers (3 required)

PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE:
Close hatch cover (TM 5-5420-226-10)
REMOVAL:
1.
Firmly support mounting plate (A) in position with one hand.
2.
With other hand, use screwdriver to remove three screws (B) and three lockwashers
(C) from lower side of plate (A). Throw lockwashers (C) away.
NOTE
Shims are positioned on top of mounting plate (A). Keep
mount plate (A) as level as possible when removing.
3.
With both hands firmly supporting mounting plate (A), lower mounting plate from
cover (D).
4.
Remove shims (E) from upper side of plate (A). Record number of shims positioned
at each location for installation purposes.
