HEU AND EARLY MODEL HOLD-DOWN CYLINDER REPAIR (Sheet 3 of 4)
CLEANING AND INSPECTION:
WARNING
Cleaning agent specified is flammable. Use only in well ventilated areas. Keep away
from flames, sparks, or heat. Do not smoke while using. Prevent contact with eyes,
mouth, and/or skin. Wear rubber gloves when performing cleaning procedures.

Use dry cleaning solvent to clean all metallic parts.
2.
Use rags to dry all parts.
3.
Inspect all parts for damage or wear. Replace all unserviceable parts.
ASSEMBLY:

For Early Model: Install new preformed packing assembly (A) on piston rod (B).
For HEU Model: Position installation tool (B.1) on piston rod (B) and install new seal pack assembly (A).

Install new packing retainer (C) and new preformed packing (D) on land ring (E).
3.
Install new wiper ring (F) in sleeve bushing (E).
4.
Install sleeve bushing (E) on piston rod (B) and aline holes with head (G).
5.
Install mount plate (H) on piston rod (B) and aline holes with land ring (E) and head (G).
6.
Using socket head screw attachment, loosely install eight screws (J).
7.
Using torque wrench, adapter and socket head screw attachment, tighten screws (J) to 40 to 50 lb-ft (54-68 Nm).
