TM 5-5420-278-100066 000066 00-5LOADING AND MOVEMENT OF EQUIPMENT (Contd)d. Loading and Movement. For transportability guidance in handling andmovement of IRB bays, refer to TM 743-200-1, Storage and Materials Handling, and TM 55-2200-001-12, Transportability Guidance for Application of Blocking,Bracing, and Tiedown Materials. Refer to TM 5-5420-234-14&P for information onthe Common Bridge Transporter (CBT) and the Bridge Adapter Pallet (BAP).(1) When unloading an IRB-R or IRB-I for shipment or storage, ensure cargobed, pallet, or ground surface is flat, level, and capable of supportingweight of bay. (Refer to Equipment Data, WP 0003 00, for weights anddimensions of bays.)(2) Dunnage should be placed under IRB-R and IRB-I pontons duringunloading to facilitate tiedown and prevent movement during shipment.Dunnage also prevents damage to bottom of bay when loading from groundto transporter. It is important to place one additional dunnage under theIRB-R inner pontons approximately 1 ft (305 mm) from the end of theapproach ramp when unloading bay to ground; the inner pontons narrowto a point at the approach ramp end, and without the dunnage, the baywill often tip from side to side, making it very difficult to load ontransporter.PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT AND LIMITED STORAGEa. Cleaning. Protection for IRB bays and accompanying equipment must besufficient to protect the material against deterioration and physical damage.WARNINGSkysol-100 mixture is combustible.
