FRONT STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (Sheet 2 of 3)
REMOVAL:
1.
Using 9/16 inch wrench, remove bolt
(A) from link (B).
2.
Push rod end (C) aside.
3.
Using 9/16 inch wrench, remove bolt
(A) from link (D).
4.
Push rod end (E) aside.
Use e f f e c t i v e chip guarding and personal p r o t e c t i v e
equipment (goggles/shield, gloves, etc.) during cutting
and welding operations. Failure to do so could result in
personal injury.
Remove flammable materials, such as spilled fuel or oil
from immediate area. Place wet rags or nonflammable
cloth around area being welded. Follow safety proce-
dures as listed in TM 9-237 "Operator's Manual, Welding
Theory and Practice".
5.
Using oxy-acetylene torch, remove
link assembly (F) from supports which
are welded to hull. (TM 9-237).
