TM 5-5420-278-100011 000011 00-5INTERIOR BAY CONTROLS AND INDICATORS (Contd)HANDRAILS — There is a handrail rope supported by three fold-upstanchions mounted on the splash plate at each side of the IRB-I. To set upthe handrail, pull each stanchion out and away from the mounting bracketand stowage catch, then lift the stanchion up; a spring will automatically setthe stanchion into the mounting bracket, once the stanchion is vertical. Tostow the handrail, lift each stanchion up and out of the mounting bracket, folddown, then release. Make sure the stowage catch is secure. When bays areconnected, the handrail ropes are joined by connecting the snaphookstogether. Press the lever on either snaphook to disconnect ropes.HROPELEVERSNAPHOOKSTANCHIONMOUNTINGBRACKETHANDRAIL, STOWED POSITIONSTOWAGE CATCHHIBELAY CLEATS — There is a belay cleat located on each outer pontonsplash plate near the handrail stanchion at both ends of the bay.
