Section II. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKS AND SERVICES (PMCS)
GENERAL
Operators PMCS Table 1 is for the CBT, Table 2 is for the ramp bay, and
Table 3 is for the interior bay. The tables list inspections and care required to keep
the equipment in good operating conditon. Operator PMCS are performed to ensure
that the equipment is ready for operation at all times.
a. Before operation, perform PMCS intervals listed Before. Observe all
cautions and warnings.
b. During operation, perform PMCS intervals listed During. Observe all
cautions and warnings.
c. After operation, perform PMCS intervals listed After. Observe all cautions
and warnings.
d. At any PMCS interval, if your equipment fails to operate, notify Unit
Maintenance.
PURPOSE OF PMCS TABLE
The purpose of the PMCS table is to provide a systematic method of inspection
and required service of equipment. In this way, small defects can be detected early
before they become a major problem, causing the equipment to fail to complete its
mission. The PMCS table is arranged with the individual PMCS procedures listed
in sequence under assigned intervals. The most logical time (before, during, and
after operation) to perform each procedure determines the interval to which it is
assigned. Make a habit of performing the checks in the same order each time. See
Explanation of Columns for an explanation of columns in tables 1 and 2.
EXPLANATION OF COLUMNS
The following is a list and description of the column headings in the PMCS table.
a. Item Number. This column shows the sequence in which the checks and
services are to be performed, and is used to identify the equipment area on the Equip-
ment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet, DA Form 2404 or DA Form 5988-E.
b. Interval. This column indicates when each check is to be performed.
c. Item To Check/Service. This column identifies the item and location to be
inspected by part, component, or assembly name.
