PURGE FUEL SYSTEM (Sheet 1 of 2)
TOOLS: 7/16 in. combination box and open end wrench

PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE: Remove upper engine access cover (page 17-11)
Using wrench and flashlight, reach through

access hatch and loosen f u e l filter bleed
cap (A).
Set FUEL PUMP switch to ON

Set MASTER BATTERY switch to ON

NOTE
If no air bubbles are observed in
step 4, go to step 7.
Observe for air release bubbles from bleed cap (A).

Set MASTER BATTERY switch to OFF (TM 5-5420-202-10).

Wait approximately one minute, then repeat steps 3 and 4 until a constant fuel flow is

observed from fluid cap (A).
Using wrench, tighten bleed cap (A).
7.
Set MASTER BATTERY and FUEL PUMP switches to OFF (TM 5-5420-202-10).

Go on to Sheet 2
