BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER REPAIR (Sheet 3 of 5)
CLEANING AND INSPECTION:
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 is toxic and flammable. To avoid
injury, wear protective goggles and gloves and use in a well-
ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes, and
do not breathe vapors. Do not use near open fire or excessive
heat. The flash point for Type I dry cleaning solvent is 100F
(38C) and for Type II is 138F (50C). If you become dizzy while
using dry cleaning solvent, get fresh air immediately and get
medical aid. If contact with eyes is made, wash your eyes with
water and get medical aid immediately.

Clean all metallic parts in dry cleaning solvent.

Visually inspect cylinder bore (A) for scratches, pits, or glazing. Replace cylinder if unserviceable.
3.
Visually inspect inside cylinder by looking in hole (B) and check hole pattern (C) on bottom of master
cylinder.
NOTE
Four holes (C) as shown is acceptable.
