TOOLS: 3/4 in. socket with 3/8 in. drive

10 in. extension with 1/2 in. drive

Torque wrench with 3/8 in. drive (0-200 lb-in) (0-23 Nm)

Ratchet with 1/2 in. drive

Flat-tip screwdriver

Putty knife

9/16 in. socket with 1/2 in. drive

3/4 in. socket with 1/2 in. drive

Container to catch oil (minimum 20 gal. capacity)

Sealing washer NAS1598-6V

Rags (Item 12, Appendix D)

PROCEDURE:

Remove upper engine access cover (page 17-14)

WARNING

Hold up valve seat (A) when removing

last screw (B) attaching valve seat (A)

to hull floor (C). Valve seat (A) is

heavy and can cause injury if it falls.

Using 3/4 inch socket, remove four screws

(B) and lockwashers (D) holding valve seat

(A) and gasket (E) to hull floor (C).

While holding valve seat (A), use screwdriver

and pry valve seat (A) from hull floor (C).

Using putty knife, scrape gasket (E) from hull

floor (C) and valve seat (A).
