1-3/4 in. open end wrench
6 in. ruler
Slip joint pliers
Ratchet with 1/2 in. drive
F l a t - t i p screwdriver
Gloves (Item 69, Appendix D)
Dry cleaning solvent (Item 55, Appendix D)
SUPPLIES:
Goggles (Item 70, Appendix D)
P r e f o r m e d packing
Rags (Item 65, Appendix D)
R E F E R E N C E : TM 5-5420-202-10
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE: Open top deck grille doors (TM 5-5420-202-10)
REMOVAL:
Press down on connector sleeve (A) and
1.
remove plug (B).
Using slip joint pliers, remove chain (C)
2.
from plug (B).
Using 1-3/4 inch wrench, remove pipe
3.
adapter (D) from fuel tank (E). Cover fuel
tank opening (E) with clean rags.
Press and hold down connector sleeve (A).
4.
Using screwdriver, remove retaining ring
(F) by pulling out.
Remove connector sleeve (A), spring
5.
(G), preformed packing (H), and three
ball bearings (J) from pipe adapter (D).
Throw preformed packing (H) away.
Go on to Sheet 2
