COUNTERBALANCE VALVE CARTRIDGE "DD" REPLACEMENT (Sheet 1 of 1)
TOOLS:
1-1/2 in. open end wrench
SUPPLIES:
Drip pans (suitable containers)
Rags (Item 12, Appendix D)
Preformed packing (as required)
REFERENCE: LO-12
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURES:
Zero hydraulic pressure (page 3-70.5)
NOTE
Replacement of the counterbalance valve cartridge (A) is the same for all
counter balance valves. Replacement of the scissors cylinder counterbalance
valve cartridge (A) is shown.
REMOVAL:
1.
Use wrench to remove cartridge (A) from counter balance valve (B).
2.
Remove preformed packing (C).
INSTALLATION:
1.
Install new preformed packing (C) onto cartridge (A).
2.
Use wrench to install cartridge (A) into counter balance valve (B).
3.
Bleed hydraulic system (page 3-72).
4.
Check for hydraulic leaks and correct as necessary.
5.
Service hydraulic reservoir (LO-12).
